Made It Monday :) Alphabet Spoons

Everyone knows that I love to make literacy centers! I really love to make them out of things that are free or almost free! This year I saw this post on Pinterest.

I looooove this idea! Not only for my 2 year old at home but for my sweet little ones at school too! I used my Cricut, some vinyl (my newest obsession) and WOW! How cute are these!!!!

These were super simple to make! First you need a clear spoon and a colored one. I  picked white so that my vinyl would show up better! I cut the letters with  one color vinyl for the upper case and a different color for the lower case!  I used my favorite Cricut Cartridge Mickey Font!!!!! And I cut the letters .75 in size...so just under an inch!

I don't know about you but I am in LOOOOOOVVVE!

Happy Monday Friends!!!!  I hope you enjoying linking up as much as I am!!!!!

  1. Kelly,
Your spoons are TOO cute! I love how polished they look using the vinyl letters instead of just hand writing them. I think I need to get some spoons...

  7. You can buy vinyl in sheets like scrapbook paper. Then I use my cricut to die cut the letters. Vinyl is great because it already sticky....I make lots of my own stickers now too!

  9. This is a great idea! I think you could use stickers for the letters, too-- they're often available with scrapbooking supplies, or in teacher supply stores.

    1. Sorry for the delayed response. YOU can cut vinyl with any cricut or cutting machine! It is very easy to work with....but I am addicted so be careful! :)

  11. Hi,

I think it's a fantastic idea. The simple things seem to be always the ones to help best! I meet with dyslexic children and adults and one major difficulty with dyslexia are letters, some more than others. Left and right is a huge difficulty too but as I remind them, you learn to live with it and learn to cope in their own way. I invented a reading aid called the ReadAssist. Simplicity itself! Have a look at it, if you need any information just send me an email. Keep 'Pinning'!!!!
