New and AMAZING lid Idea!

I love stamps during my literacy center but they quickly get messy or get lost! SOOO I made FREE stamps for each center! They are simple to make and my students prefer them the Lakeshore ones that I already had!

Step 1: Collect lids! I prefer med size Gatorade or these lids like below
Step 2: Label the top side of the lid. I used my cricut and vinyl to die cut the letters but I could have done the same thing with a sharpie.

Step 3: precut foam letters. (I know you already have some in your classroom) Make sure you glue it on backwards so that when it is stamped it will be correct.

This is the same thing made out of Gatorade lids!

Then I got this cheap tool box at Target for 7 dollars to organize my stamps. The students can pull out the letters they need to stamp their sight words and they know where to put them back. I also die cut the letters for the front of the drawer with my cricut and vinyl!

Run Run as Fast as you can.... I LOOOVEE the Gingerbread Man

The gameboards are from the Dollar Tree! We just took the little pieces and wrote the sight word on the back and then wrote the same sight word on the board. They pull a piece, read the word and place the item in the hole!

This is the tree version of this game!

Everyone loves this fun science experiment. I started with this Little Debbie Cookie.

Each Student drew what he looked like before he was in the water and what he looked like after we placed him the water. We predicted what we would thought would happen.

Candy Graph

I love using free items in my lessons! Each of the student brought in 10 candy wrappers and we sorted by  color too! This is the Tree Map that we created for the hallway!

Candy Candy Candy!!! Free Printable

Our Students love Halloween and Candy! Who does NOT love Candy? I have each student bring in 10 candy labels and we sort them by  letters. I put the pages into sheet protectors so that if I find candy throughout the year I can add them to our class book!

Grab yourself a cover to your class book HERE!~

We also sort the labels by color for a tree map! There is so much fun to have with candy...oops I mean candy labels! :) Happy Halloween Friends!

Falling for Letters!

Fall is here! Wow! It is hard to believe that we have now completed 3 weeks of Kindergarten! I am in love with my sweet kindergarten class!  I love to make new games for them too! SO in honor of FALL here is a new game idea for you too!

1. Get bag and leaves (I got both at the Dollar Tree)
2. Write the letters on the fabric leaves and add a few extra FALLs on some of the leaves
3. Put the letters and fall leaves into the bag

4. The students pull the letters out one at a time. They color in the letter they pulled out on their recording sheet. If they get FALL they lose a turn!

Sounds FUN???!!? Grab your copy of the printable recording sheet here!~

Names, Names, Names! and a GIVEAWAY :)

I just completed my first 2 weeks of Kindergarten! What a wonderful time of the year! I love my days with my  little ones but man I am TIRED!  The first 2 weeks we spend lots of time on names! Some of my favorite name activities are:

IF YOUR NAME IS ON THE PLATE!
To play this game the students stand on the edge of the carpet. Then I toss 1 plate at a time in the middle. As we sing "If your name is on the plate pick it up, If your name is on the plate pick it up, If your name is on the plate, if your name is on the plate, if your name is on the plate PICK it up!!!! I continue to toss plates until everyone is holding their names.

WHO STOLE THE COOKIES FROM THE COOKIE JAR!
This is a very popular activity that I have seen all over Blog World. I do it very similar. I wrote the names of my students on the cookies and the put the song part onto sentence strips. We sing this song whole group for a few days and then this is one of the first pocket chart activities for my class!

MATCH MICKEY'S EARS
1. Take a picture of each student
2. Cut the picture into 3 X 5 or cut out and glue to color cardstock
3. Laminate
4. Write the students name on the mickey mouse ears (these are NOT glued on the page)
5. Laminate the Mickey Ears Seperate
6. Using VELCRO or MAGNETS you can make the hats where they are removable
7. Enjoy the fun as your students give their class make MICKEY NAME EARS!

your very own class set!!!!!

We also did one of the fun Chicka Chicka hand print name activities!!!!!

We read the story A MY NAME is and then the class illustrated their pictures....

You can print you own copy of the is template by clicking on the picture below!!! *** I left the template at school. I will add this one Monday!

Name Tubes: This is a fun name center for the class. I put the letter for each student in the tub. I do make it a little easier by doing green water for boys and red water for girls. Then I make the game board with all of the pictures and names from our class! It is amazing ALL of the STRATEGIES they use to figure out who's name is in each tube!

This is fun bulletin board outside our door....just thought I would share!

Another FUN and CHEAP find... I got this black tub at the Dollar Tree then I die cut Vinyl letters and look how stinkin cute it turned out!!!!

Kindergarten is a SUPER place!

I thought I would share my door to start the school year! I have an amazing family that helps me with the design of my door each year. Their little one that I had is now is 3rd grade! (Where does time go?)

How cute is this???

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Letter Game

SO I made ANOTHER lid game!!! Are you shocked?! Nope me neither! I AM in LOVE with this one! It turned out so cute! I used my Cricut to die cut the cute Palm Trees. Then I found these letters in the dollar spot at Target. They are SOOOO cute but you can use any letters you have or just use cute markers!

Then I placed the same letter on the trees that are on the lids. If you look closely you can see in this picture that the letter D is not matched up yet!  I divided the alphabet into 2 sheets of 12 by 12 paper so that there were not too many letters on one page..

AND I had a sheet of palm trees left over so I made the Chicka Chicka 123!~ How stinkin cute is this...My Friend next door...came into my room...saw this game and sat down and MADE it! I  hope you love it as much as we do!

If you do not have cricut...you can CLICK ON THE PICTURE BELOW FOR YOUR VERY OWN PALM TREE PRINT OUT!

Are you saving lids yet?  I will post more lid games soon! I love FREE resources!

This is going to be my writing center. I picked up these super cute containers at the Dollar Tree and then I zip tied them to the back of the book case...some cute ribbon and WOW!

I made these blends charts on my Cricut a few years ago and I LOVE them!

This is one of my favorite things to do....the blank spot under the animal is where a CLASS photo goes from the special color day! My kids are GREAT at wearing the color of the week!

I just thought I would show some of my MANY books...These ones are on display and on the top you can see the bottom of my theme books that I use as a teacher.
