Eggcellent Work!!!

QUICK!!! Pick up some plastic eggs since they are 75% now at the store! Here is just one way that we use them in our classroom!
I gave the students 6 different color eggs. They color the paper sheet with the same color. Then they mix and fix the sight word that is inside the egg. I made the foam letters the same color as the eggs too just in case they got the letters mixed up!

EveryBUGGY can Recycle!

WOW! I can not believe that has almost been a month since I last updated this site! This week my class made the most amazing bugs out of lids! First I have to admit that I have a LID problem. I have my kids bring them in all of the time! We save them, we sort them, and I love to find new uses for them!

This week they made bugs! I did not model at all for this activity because I wanted to see their creativity!!! Here are a few of the bugs!

Butterflies are FUN!!!!

Ediable Butterfly Lifecycle
The Butterfly cracker is the butterfly, marshmellows are the eggs, a gummy worm is the caterpillar and the chrysalis is a tootsie roll! YYUUUUMMM!

This is ONE of my FAVORITE things to do! Using sticky foam die cut an egg with a HOLE PUNCH, a caterpillar with a SWIRLY diecut, a chrysalis with PEPPER die cut and then the butterfly with a BUTTERLY punch! The kids each get to make one and they love telling the lifecycle to anyone that ask them about the bracelet!
This is a really fun way to reread The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Give each student the small retelling pieces, punch a hole in the middle of each piece and as the caterpillar eats the item in the story they string the piece onto a pipe cleaner! OF course we use glitter ones! Who does NOT like glitter???

These pictures are in the reverse order! Die cut a WHITE butterfly. Then the students use torn tissue to decorate their butterfly! We added these to the top of some pretttttty amazing butterfly writings!!!!!
